Join us on a hike through the cultural landscape! Four historic trails run through Äskhult. Äskhult’s historic trails offer several alternative routes with varying levels of difficulty. The main trails are marked in blue, green, and yellow.

Along the trails, there are a number of stations at sites of historical or biological significance. Each station is numbered according to the trail. The white trail is a shortcut you can take if you’d like to go on a shorter hike.

All trails start and end in the village of Äskhult, but you can also begin your hike from other points, such as the turnaround area just north of the parking lot. Here you’ll also meet the Hallandsleden trail. You can walk the trails in any direction, but they have a main direction indicated by the numbering of the stations and the descriptions.

Viewpoints

There are beautiful viewpoints in the central and northern parts of the cultural reserve. There are also picnic tables here for those who want to stop and enjoy a packed lunch during the hike.

Please note that the trails partly pass through pastures with grazing animals. The animals are used to people moving through the fields, but please show consideration.

Take a dip in Lake Svinsjön

In the summer, it’s wonderful to swim from the cliffs. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy the waterside. You can either order a picnic basket at the café or bring your own.

Camping

Camping is only permitted at our wind shelter next to the parking lot. There is a fire pit there if you want to cook over an open fire. The restrooms are open most of the year, with a few exceptions during the winter.
