Accessibility

Here you’ll find practical information about accessibility in the village and other things that may be helpful to know before your visit.

Accessible Parking

There is a disabled parking area at the top of the village, and you can drive up there.
This is only for people with wheelchairs and/or a disability permit.

The houses in the village have high thresholds, and it can be difficult to enter some of the buildings. A ramp is available; please ask the staff. Work is underway to make the village more accessible to everyone.

Restrooms

Since the village is a replica of 1825, there are no restrooms in the village itself. There are nice restrooms in the parking lot before you enter the village. A wheelchair-accessible restroom and changing table are available in the parking lot.

Fires and Barbecues

There is a ban on open fires and smoking throughout the village. At the parking lot, before you enter the village, there is a wind shelter with a barbecue area where you can grill.

Dogs

Man’s best friend is welcome to accompany you in the village and in the cultural reserve, but must always be on a leash. For much of the year, there are grazing animals in the village, so it is very important that dogs are not allowed to roam freely in the reserve. Feel free to ask for water for your dog at the coffee shop. Your dog is welcome inside the coffee shop.

Picnic

It’s exciting and fun to bring your own picnic.
Remember to take everything home that you brought here.

We currently offer guided tours in Swedish and English. Brochures are available in Swedish, English, and German.

Camping

Camping is only permitted in the designated area by the wind shelter behind the parking lot.
