Grilled food tastes even better after spending a few hours out in nature. There are several spots around Kungsbacka where you can grill hot dogs, marshmallows, bread on a stick, and other tasty treats!
Barbecue areas with firewood
There are a few barbecue areas provided by the Kungsbacka municipality where firewood is available. Keep in mind that even though firewood is often available, it can run out. So bring your own if you want to be absolutely sure you can grill your sausages!
- Fjärås Bräcka: There are several barbecue areas with firewood here. Both on the shore of Lake Lygnern, near the nature center, and by the parking lot.
- Äskhult: A wind shelter with a fire pit and a wood storage area. The municipality restocks the wood, but it’s a good idea to bring your own.
- Stensjön (Hallandsleden): A wind shelter by the lake with a fire pit and firewood.
- Stora Iglakärr: There is a campsite here with a wind shelter, barbecue area, and firewood.
Tips for more cozy barbecue spots
These spots have grills and often tables to sit at, but you’ll need to bring your own firewood or charcoal. Enjoy your barbecue!

- Trash: Always take all your trash home with you.
- Fire hazard: Always check the current fire hazard forecast (e.g., via the Greater Gothenburg Fire Department) before barbecuing, especially during dry periods.
- Firewood: Even though firewood is often available, it can run out. Bring your own just to be safe. It’s not always allowed to collect firewood from the outdoors; check the rules for that specific location.
